Chief Executive
Salary: £80,000 - £85,000
Location: Remote with travel to London and the UK
Reporting to: Board of Trustees

Purpose:
To provide inspiring and enabling leadership to Twins Trust, building on the organisation's strong foundations to unlock its next phase of growth and impact. Working closely with the Board, staff, volunteers and partners, the Chief Executive will drive delivery of the current strategy whilst broadening the charity's reach, influence and sustainability so that many more twin families can benefit from its work.
Key responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership to Twins Trust, driving delivery of the current strategy while identifying opportunities to unlock the organisation's next phase of growth, influence and impact.
Lead, inspire and empower a high-performing remote team, fostering an inclusive, collaborative and coaching culture that enables colleagues to thrive, develop and deliver their best work.
Drive organisational growth, by expanding membership, diversifying income, strengthening strategic partnerships and identifying new opportunities to increase the charity's reach, sustainability and impact.
Build and maintain strong relationships, with members, volunteers, healthcare professionals, funders, policymakers and sector partners, ensuring Twins Trust remains a trusted and influential voice for families with twins, triplets and more.
Act as the charity's principal ambassador, representing Twins Trust with credibility and passion across the voluntary sector, healthcare, government, the media and other external forums, raising the organisation's profile and influence nationally.
Ensure the effective stewardship of the organisation, maintaining strong financial management, governance, risk management and operational performance to support the charity's long-term sustainability.
Work closely with the Chair and Board of Trustees, providing strategic advice, timely reporting and effective governance support, while ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory and statutory responsibilities.
Champion a values-led, ambitious and high-performing culture, ensuring the organisation continues to innovate, evolve and deliver meaningful outcomes for families with twins, triplets and more.
Undertake any other duties, reasonably required by the Board of Trustees that are consistent with the responsibilities of the role.

Vision, mission and strategy: Proactively scans the landscape to identify the big picture of opportunities and challenges and works alongside the Trustees to determine the strategy and structure of the organisation; demonstrates a deep understanding of the ecosystem in which the charity sits (Note: for the interim we have a strategic plan in place. Your role will be to ensure that the organisation is delivering against it.)
Making a difference: Ensures that the organisation is creating real world change in line with its vision, mission, strategy and values and ensures that this is monitored and evaluated in accordance with industry best practice.

Leadership and management: Ensure organisational accountabilities are understood and communicated effectively to all stakeholders organisation and takes accountability for own actions. Is able to lead, manage, and motivate staff within a virtual operation.
Management style: Easily flexes management style for different situations including upwards.
Developing people: Identifies and support high potential employees at a senior level within the organisation. Offers constructive feedback to others and actively seeks out feedback and adapts behaviour accordingly.
External influencing: Builds trusted relationships and influences a broad range of stakeholders, acting as a credible ambassador for Twins Trust across healthcare, government, funders, partners and the wider voluntary sector to increase the organisation's profile and impact.
Person specification
Experience
Successful track record as a Chief Executive or in a significant senior leadership role within the charity, health or wider not-for-profit sector.
Experience of implementing organisational strategy and leading organisations through growth, change and development.
Successful track record of building, leading and empowering high-performing teams, with an inclusive, coaching leadership style that enables individuals and teams to thrive, ideally within a remote or geographically dispersed organisation.
Demonstrable experience of financial planning and management of significant organisational budgets, ensuring effective stewardship of resources and long-term sustainability.
Experience of fundraising, income generation and identifying opportunities to diversify organisational income through strategic partnerships, funding or business development.
Significant experience of acting as an effective external ambassador, building strategic relationships and influencing a wide range of stakeholders, including funders, healthcare professionals, volunteers, government, members and sector partners.
Experience of working effectively with and supporting a Board of Trustees, including governance, risk management and organisational accountability.
Knowledge
A thorough understanding of charitable and/or public sector organisations, including governance, financial management and income generation.
Knowledge of, or experience working within, babies, children, parenting, maternal health, early years or closely related sectors, with an understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing families with multiples.

Ability to understand and empathise with the needs of families with twins, triplets or more, including those who have experienced the bereavement of one or more babies.
