About us

Age UK Enfield is a local, independent charity dedicated to supporting older people across the London Borough of Enfield. For nearly 40 years, the charity has worked to enhance later life by providing practical services, social opportunities, and tailored support for people aged 50 and over.

The charity is founded on the belief that older people should be valued, independent, and engaged in their local community, helping them remain connected, active, and able to live the life they choose. Age UK Enfield’s services are designed to meet each person’s unique needs while promoting well-being and quality of life.

Each year, the dedicated team of staff and volunteers at Age UK Enfield reaches over 7,000 older adults, providing essential services including:

  • Information and Advice services to help people access benefits, housing support, and local resources.

  • The Parker Day Centre, offering dedicated care for individuals with dementia and support for their carers.

  • Fit for Life, a programme of more than 20 weekly exercise classes and community walks.

  • Home Care and Support, an award-winning service providing personalised care in the home.

  • Home from Hospital, assisting residents returning home after a hospital stay with short-term practical support.

Age UK Enfield is at an exciting stage, with a landmark project to move to new premises is now in its final stages. This creates a significant opportunity to expand its offerings with a new bespoke facility. At the heart of the charity’s work is a commitment to ensuring ageing is a positive experience. Age UK Enfield strives to ensure that older people are seen, heard, and supported, with timely access to the resources and services they need. The charity’s core values—people-centred, kind, inclusive, creative, professional, and collaborative—are deeply embedded in all its services and outreach.

Although part of the national Age UK network, Age UK Enfield operates independently to respond to the specific needs of the local community. It works in close partnership with the local authority, health and social care providers, and voluntary organisations. Together, Age UK Enfield and its partners are building a borough where older people are empowered to live the life they choose with dignity, connection, and purpose.
