Chief Operating Officer

Salary:

circa £95,000

Working arrangements:

The role will be based in London (SE1), UK. Our normal hybrid working arrangements are that staff spend 40% of each week (two days) in International Alert’s (Alert’s) office (London SE1), and may work remotely for 60% of their time if they wish. We would be willing to consider applications from candidates seeking other flexible working arrangements, though the jobholder would need to commit at a minimum to some regular attendance at the London office for example for Board meetings, team retreats or other significant and scheduled events requiring in-person working.

The team that the successful candidate will supervise is based across a number of Alert’s global locations, as are other members of Alert’s global teams. The ability to manage a geographically-distributed team, ensuring cohesion and wellbeing, is an important requirement.

The jobholder would benefit from some travel to Alert’s country programme offices, but travel demands in the role can be scaled depending on the successful candidate’s preferences and commitments.
