Welcome
Thank you for your interest in the role of Chief Executive Officer at the Gambling Lived Experience Network (GLEN).
GLEN is an independent charity working to ensure that the voices of people with lived experience of gambling harm meaningfully inform national debate, public policy and system design. At a time of significant reform across the gambling harms system, GLEN exists to ensure those voices are heard clearly, credibly and with influence.
The sector is currently undergoing rapid change, driven by the introduction of the new statutory levy funding model and shifts in commissioning arrangements across research, prevention and treatment. Having established itself as a trusted and constructive voice within the sector, GLEN is now entering a new phase of growth, strengthening its governance, expanding organisational capacity and increasing its ability to influence policy, commissioning and system learning at a national level.
This is a pivotal moment for the organisation. As we sharpen our focus, deepen our partnerships and strengthen our role as a national leader within the gambling harms system, we are seeking an exceptional Chief Executive to lead GLEN through its next chapter of organisational maturity, strategic development and impact.
The Chief Executive will provide visible, values-led and intellectually rigorous leadership, refining GLEN's strategic direction, accelerating organisational impact and championing its position as a trusted and authoritative lived experience voice. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, staff team, partners and lived experience network, the Chief Executive will represent GLEN nationally with credibility and influence, helping to shape how gambling harm is understood and addressed across the UK.
Alongside maintaining strong external relationships, the successful candidate will build a resilient, sustainable organisation capable of delivering long-term impact. They will be responsible for navigating a complex and evolving environment, making clear strategic choices, driving organisational excellence and ensuring that lived experience perspectives are not diluted, tokenised or excluded, but instead actively shape decisions that affect people's lives.
We are looking for a leader who can inspire confidence across a diverse range of stakeholders, influence change at a system level and champion equity, inclusion and lived experience-centred practice. For the right individual, this is a rare opportunity to shape the future direction of GLEN and ensure that lived experience insight remains visible, valued and applied at the heart of decision-making across the gambling harms system.
Thank you for considering a leadership role with GLEN.
Yours sincerely,
Emma Harrison
