Prospectus Executive Search

Welcome

Dear Candidate,

On behalf of the Council of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT), I am delighted to invite you to consider the opportunity to become our next Chief Executive.

This is an exciting and important moment for BAAT and for the art therapy profession. As awareness of mental health and wellbeing continues to grow, so too does the recognition of the vital role that art therapy  can play in helping people navigate some of life's most complex challenges. BAAT has an important responsibility to champion the profession, support its members, and ensure that the value of art therapy is understood across healthcare, education, social care and community settings.

As the professional body for art therapists and art psychotherapists in the UK, BAAT is committed to advancing the profession through professional development, advocacy, research, education and member support. We are proud of the role we play in promoting the highest standards of practice while working to ensure that more people can benefit from access to high-quality art therapy services.

As our next Chief Executive, you will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of BAAT and to help strengthen the profession at a time of both opportunity and change. Working closely with the Council, members, staff and key stakeholders, you will provide strategic leadership to the organisation, championing the interests of the profession and increasing BAAT's influence and impact across the wider health and care landscape.

We are seeking an inspiring and collaborative leader who combines strategic vision with strong organisational leadership. You will be comfortable building relationships, influencing across a diverse range of stakeholders, and representing BAAT as its principal ambassador. Most importantly, you will share our commitment to professional excellence, inclusion, creativity, advocacy, collaboration and integrity.

This is a unique opportunity to lead an organisation with a clear sense of purpose and a passionate membership community. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring BAAT remains a strong, sustainable and influential voice for art therapy, while helping the profession continue to evolve and thrive for future generations.

Thank you for your interest in BAAT and this important leadership position. We look forward to learning more about you and your vision for the future of the Association.

Yours sincerely,

Sarah Challenger
